Day 2 of the Dollar General Clearance Event!

Today is day 2 of the Dollar General Clearance Event. Yesterday went pretty smooth for most of my purchases, I hope it was the same for everyone. I did grab a shampoo in the clearance aisle that rang full price (it did not have a clearance sticker though) so I just asked for that item to be taken off.

If you are going out today, be sure to grab your old receipt for the $5 off $25 coupon (or clip the digital).

The digitals that I used were the Gain laundry soap, the Downy dryer sheets, Crest toothpaste, and an older All detergent coupon. The Scott Paper Towel coupon and the $4/2 All did not seem to be working, but the All may have been due to size requirements – it is pretty specific.

This is the Scott Paper Towel package that is included. Remember YMMV. Sometimes stores do not yet have it marked as clearance. If it is marked with clearance, then they should change the price to 1/2 off for you if it does not ring correctly, as the signs say “all clearance”. If it is not marked, and you get the correct package, ask for a price check.  The Scott is the 8=10 rolls and NOT the 6=8=10 rolls.

Since the Scott digital coupon does not seem to be working, you can print a 50¢ off coupon here:
Scott Coupons

The Quilted Northern 12 = 24 is also included.  The blue or purple package.  Please note that the digital will not work as it’s on a 24 roll, and this is 12=24 roll.  Did I ever say how much I hate coupons – too much detail for me!

The Charmin shown also has a digital coupon.  I purchased the 2 on the right and they both rang up correctly.  I did not purchase any of the Angel Soft.

If you are unsure which items are included, you can look on DG.com and see what they have listed at 1/2 off.  Remember that you will have to get the EXACT item.  Usually this type of clearance is due to repackaging.

Clearance is as follows and prices should ring an extra 1/2 off these items:

Brown dot (with some exclusions) are 70% – so a $10 item at 70% would be $3 and the extra 1/2 off would make it only $1.50.

Blue and gray dot clothing, shoes, and accessories on a scale that regular $4 and under is 25¢ and regular $5 and up are $1 (Charles Albert slippers are NOT included).  With the extra 1/2 off these items should ring 12¢ and 50¢.

Easter 50% off – so a $1 item at 50% off is 50¢ and the extra 1/2 would make it a quarter.

Yellow dot toys are not any percent off, but just ringing a flat 50% during this event.

Clearance merchandise (marked as such) should ring 1/2 off the clearance tag.

Some stores are better than others at marking their clearance.

I also got 2 of the Gain (middle bottle) and I used a digital and then a printed coupon from PGeveryday.com.

A few more items that I purchased:

Tide pods with Febreze UPC ending in 55672 are ringing as clearance, there is a digital as well as a printable on PGeveryday.com.

All PowerCore Laundry pods ending in 3787 are ringing up as clearance and I also had a $1 off digital for this.

Sometimes digital coupons vary by account.  My husband did not have the All coupon in his account.

Cottonelle Toilet Paper ending in 4741 also rang as clearance and had a digital coupon.

There is also a NEW Cottonelle coupon out this morning!

Some stores will have more clearance and different clearance than others.  Walk around the store and look for the orange clearance tags on the shelves to find other clearance merchandise.

If you are looking for something in particular, like diapers, go to DG.com and search for “diapers”.  Then see what shows as 50% off.  These should be the same in store.

I want to ask you all to have patience with the employees, as sometimes they don’t know if an item is included or not.  And, please put items back if you change your mind.

Also, PLEASE DO NOT HIDE STUFF!  I honestly wish they could ban people who hide stuff!

Have a great weekend, and happy shopping!
