FREE Dollar General Remodel Location Master List – updating April 25
When Dollar General remodels their stores, various things mark down. These items can be different for each store, but there are certain items that you can look for that usually signify a remodel is coming.
We have NO affiliation with Dollar General. They could change things at any time.
I try to help by finding some of the remodels, but I do not have the time to do all states each week. And I am not an expert and don’t find all of them, I’m sure.
Some states may not have any new remodels and are not updated recently.
These items are the most accurate at finding a remodel for me when using Brickseek. You can also put the UPC in your DG app to check a store near you.

Question: How do I know when my Dollar General remodel store will penny?

When frozen / refrigerated go to 50% off on a Monday, those stores usually penny the upcoming Sunday. The whole store DOES NOT penny, only select items. The frozen / fresh also does NOT usually penny. You must do your own research for the items that will penny by checking Brickseek or your DG app to see what is 50% off. Most of these items will penny. There are always exceptions.
Question: What does $1 food aisle mean for a remodel location?
Answer: It is not a full remodel and mostly just the $1 aisle food goes to 50% off before it pennies on “penny Sunday” … a few other items may be included like cheap toys or other food items. It is best to look through the DG app at your store to see what is 50% off.
Also, if there is a clearance event the weekend your store is getting ready to penny, that can throw everything off because clearance events are usually 50% off clearance and these items are NOT usually included when the select items go to a penny.
Sometimes frozen / refrigerated does NOT go to 50% but the store select items penny anyway. You must check the DG app early Sunday morning before going to be sure. Add the 50% items to your list in the DG app. If they all go to 0.00 or 0.01 early Sunday morning, that store most likely has the select items for a penny. The list is not always accurate, so I always suggest that you check a few items manually also before heading out. Put the UPC in the DG app where you scan to verify the price.

If the state has no locations in the slideshow, I did not locate any remodel locations in that state. That does not mean that there aren’t any, I just didn’t find any. States are updates as I find new locations.
If there is nothing showing in your state or area, you can look for the remodels yourself.

no, i have not. i usually only check when someone tells me that there are supposed to be some in a certain state.
I have a question? If a store is remolding and food went to 50% and things are supposed to penny Sunday but now the food went back to normal price, will the other items still penny on Sunday because I’ve never seen this before?

The two locations in Texas Grandprairie specifically. The food is 50% off the tags are all in the right places for other items for 50% off that penny. My question is if they don’t have a sign on their door with remodel date is it likely that Sunday would still be the penny date? I just went to another remodel this past Sunday and their remodel sign was up the week before.
The sign does not have to be there. Not all stores will replace their freezers when they Remodel so your best bet is to have 50% off items in your list on DG app, then after midnight on Saturday nights, check that list. If the item price has changed to $0.00 you know it’s time to get to that store by opening time that morning. If frozen has been discounted to 50% off then you automatically know, that following Sunday is when you will go….sign or not
