Dollar General $5 off $25 scenarios for Saturday October 10

These deals are valid at Dollar General on Saturday 10/10/20 using the $5 off $25 coupon.

I have information below for anyone new to Dollar General.

But a quick reminder to all:

  • Prices may vary.  Scan each item at the store to verify the price and the digital coupon is still attaching correctly.  You need to be at $25 after instant savings, but before coupons for the $5/$25 to deduct.

  • Use these scenarios as is, or mix and match items based on your needs and available coupons. Check out our post with more Dollar General all digital coupon deals to help build your own scenario or for filler ideas.

This first scenario includes an instant savings deal. Remember, instant savings deduct first. Your subtotal (not including tax) needs to be at least $25 after instant savings for the $5/$25 to deduct. I know I repeat this several times but it is the most frequent mistake new people make when couponing at DG.

If you do any scenarios that include P&G products like this next one, be sure to check out the following posts:

P&G $15 rebate  .

Earn points towards gift cards when you buy P&G products   .

Of course I have to have at least one scenario that includes some pet items.

Another scenario with including an instant savings deal. Make sure you are at $25 after instant savings deduct.

If buying the Gerber formula in this next scenario, be sure to check for Gerber specific offers from Fetch Rewards. Turn almost any receipt into gift cards! Use my referral code, TF1BT, during signup and you’ll get 2,000 Fetch Points just for scanning your first receipt. Offers vary by user.

This next scenario is a good example of when you pay less when buying more. Buy the 35lb bag of dog food and pay $15.95 after $2 digital coupon. But add on some items with high value coupons and pay just $14.30 for everything.

How to use digital coupons at Dollar General:

  • Go to the DG App or DG Coupons on their website and make an account with your email and phone number.
  • “Clip” the coupons to your account.
  • When making a purchase, enter your phone number into the pin pad while the cashier scans your items.
  • Once you have entered your phone number, the cashier can hit total and your digitals will deduct.

If using a $5 off $25 digital coupon, your total needs to be at least $25, BEFORE coupons but AFTER instant savings. Tax does not count toward the $25 total. Hand over any manufacturer paper coupons after digitals have applied.

If using a $5 off $25 paper coupon, have the cashier scan it prior to applying digital coupons. Then enter your phone number for digital coupons to apply. Last, hand over any manufacturer paper coupons.

**Scan items with the app to double check you have the digital coupon clipped and it is still attaching properly.**

*Not everyone will have every digital. You may not have received it. Or you didn’t clip it in time. Or you already used it.

*Prices may vary by location or items may be on clearance. So the price I show may be different than at your store.

*I strongly encourage you to use the DG app to scan items at your store to verify price and coupon is attaching properly.

*Occasionally the app does not show a coupon attaching when scanned from home, but will when scanned at the store. If I have it in a scenario I confirmed it at time of posting.

*Occasionally in your app “list” it will not deduct the $5/$25 coupon for your final cost. It happens to me but it does indeed deduct at the register!

*Digital coupons are one time use!

*Use these scenarios as guides. Mix and Match items you want and have coupons for.
