There is a nice $2 off 2 Bic stationery products coupon in today’s Smart Source insert.  It is especially nice if you still have the DG “store” digital for $2 off $5!

My husband actually went out and tracked down another newspaper today so that I could have another one of these coupons.  I was not thinking though … I should have asked him to get 2 more papers because I already used one of my Bic coupons at Rite Aid on some clearance pens.

Anyway, though … you should be able to do some sort of scenario giving you free pens if you have 2 insert coupons and the DG store digital.

6 packs of $1 pens = $6

  • $2 off $5 DG store digital
  • (2) $2 off 2 Bic

Total should be zero.  I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a penny and not free though.

If you only have one coupon, you could pay $1 for $5 worth of Bic stationery items as long as it’s 2 items or more.

2 packs of $2.50 pencils

  • $2 off $5 DG store digitall
  • (1) $2 off 2 Bic

Total should be $1 after all coupons.

Not all digitals are “store” coupons.  You can NOT stack a manufacturer digital and paper digital.

Let us know how this works for you!  I would definitely have them total before handing over the paper coupons.  The coupon is limit 2 and also states “no overage”.

Also, I want to point out that the SELF CHECKOUT are different than going to a regular checkout.  They are programmed differently and you may not get the deal you think you should when you use the self checkout.

How to use digital coupons at Dollar General:

  • Go to the DG App or DG Coupons on their website and make an account with your email and phone number.
  • “Clip” the coupons to your account.
  • When making a purchase, enter your phone number into the pin pad while the cashier scans your items.
  • Once you have entered your phone number, the cashier can hit total and your digitals will deduct.

Using a $5 off $25 DIGITAL coupon?

  • Subtotal needs to be at least $25, BEFORE coupons but AFTER instant savings. Tax NOT included.
  • Hand over any manufacturer paper coupons after digitals have applied.

Using a $5 off $25 PAPER coupon?

  • Subtotal needs to be at least $25 BEFORE coupons but AFTER instant savings. Tax NOT included.
  • Have cashier scan paper $5/$25 coupon prior to applying digital coupons.
  • Then enter your phone number for digital coupons to apply.
  • Last, hand over any manufacturer paper coupons.

**Scan items with the DG app to verify price and double check that you have the digital coupon clipped, and that it is still attaching properly.**
*Not everyone will have every digital. You may not have received it. Or you didn’t clip it in time. Or you already used it.
*Prices may vary by location or items may be on clearance. So the price I show may be different than at your store.
*Occasionally the app does not show a coupon attaching when scanned from home, but will when scanned at the store. If I have it in a scenario I confirmed it at time of posting.
*Occasionally in your app “list” it will not deduct the $5/$25 coupon for your final cost. It happens to me but it does indeed deduct at the register!
*Digital coupons are one time use!
*$5/$25 (or any DG threshold coupon) deducts a little off each qualifying item. Each of these small increments will total $5 (or whatever your threshold amount is.)
