Dollar General Clearance Event!
I know you are all as excited as I am about the upcoming clearance event! Start cutting coupons now and clipping all your digitals, if you haven’t yet!
Usually the clearance events are store specific and mostly range from 50% to 70%. There have been some stores that have done 90% and other that have had $1 clearance items, but these are rare. Also, there may be stores that do not have the clearance event at all.
The extra clearance event starts on Friday, Jan 29th and ends Sunday, Jan 31st.
Includes: holiday air care, holiday paper, holiday pet, Christmas candy, holiday bake, gift sets, holiday apparel, trim a tree, and trim a home. These are 25¢ – going to 10¢ tomorrow.
Also, holiday plastics and core clearance will be included in this event. There are a few more, but I don’t have pictures of them.
You can find the list here:
Holiday Storage
Core clearance is orange stickers or orange shelf tags. Again, your store may vary. Check with your store to see how they are doing their clearance event.
Please note that holiday items are any item that have previously been ringing a quarter. Other gift sets and candy that moved over to Valentine’s will not be included.
My suggestions:
- Check out your store and talk to employees. See if anyone knows what percentage they are planning for the clearance event.
- Put a few clearance items in your Dollar General app to check on Friday morning.
- Change stores in the app to see what price they are at other local stores.
I have noticed that NCI-only items on clearance usually do not ring up the extra clearance price. The store may or may not override the items. They should if signs are up, but now that they are being told that the register shows the correct price, I feel like there will be a lot of confusion.
Happy shopping!
