Dollar General Clearance Event starts Friday!
Dollar General is having another clearance event! This is almost as exciting as a new Dollar General penny list! Most stores are running the clearance from May 31 through June 2. Stores may vary between 50 and 70%. The first I had heard it was supposed to be 50% … but one of my local stores already put up a sign for 70% off.
Here is the sign on the door at one of my local stores. Remember that NOT all stores will be having 70%. Check your stores to see what the percentage will be.
The weird thing to me though, is that it is NOT yet printing on receipts. I’m afraid that they are going to cancel it. I mean, it’s already Tuesday!
These are supposed to be the included items according to the sign.
Take an additional 50% off (or 70% if you are lucky) of the following in store:
- Mother’s Day (already 70%)
- Select ASOTV (varies)
- Yellow Dot Toys
- Purple Dot Home (varies)
- Memorial Day Flowers (already 25%)
- Inspired Baking (already 70%)
- Select Electronics (already 70%)
Select electronics are already in the Penny Puss APP with DG Penny Finder and marked as clearance. I’m hoping this will help. I am trying to get as much information together as possible to make this an enjoyable shopping event!

- All items previously marked with an orange clearance sticker
Please note that you do NOT add 50% to the current percentage. Some people mistakenly think that if something is 50% off and you get an additional 50% off, then it would be 100% off, that is definitely not right. You take the 1st percentage off … then the additional percentage off the total after 1st percentage. For example, you have a $1 clearance item at 50% off. It would now be 50¢. When you take the extra 50% off that amount of 50¢, you are left with a 25¢ item.
