Dollar General Clearance Event starts Friday!

Dollar General has a 3-day Clearance Event scheduled and this time core and regular clearance is supposed to be included!  I can’t wait!  It’s been a while since they have included regular clearance too.

There is a lot of seasonal clearance marked down right now and most of it will be an extra 50% off!  You can always wait until Saturday to use the $5 off $25, but what is not already picked over now, will surely be picked over by then.

I don’t know about you, but I plan on shopping as soon as the stores open on Friday morning!

Remember to check with the Dollar General App to scan items to be sure they are included.  While some of the seasonal categories are obvious, others like Summer BBQ are not.  I will post links to prior posts of these items.

As I mentioned, some categories are fairly obvious.

  • Swim and Summer Toys (50% off now) have a pink square symbol.
  • Lawn and Garden are not marked with a symbol, but they are items like shovels, grill accessories, planters, and such.   Be sure to see the exclusions on the list
  • Spring Stationery (paper plates/napkins) should have green dot on them.
  • The seasonal dot symbols such as green dot home, red dot home, white & yellow dot (clothing, shoes, and accessories) are pretty self-explanatory.  These symbols will be on the tags.  There are some exclusions with them and also some “hidden” clearance.  Be sure to use that DG app to your advantage to look for hidden deals!

Core clearance in your stores should be marked with an orange tag on the shelf or in the clearance section … or possibly anywhere in the store.  But these items should be included if they are marked with an orange tag on the product or shelf.  And, there are always surprises that are found by scanning.
