Dollar General Clearance Event starts Friday, Oct 20th!

The next Dollar General clearance event is scheduled for this coming Friday, which will be the 20th of October.  Core clearance does NOT seem to be included at this time.  Dollar General can change things up at any time and add or remove the clearance event.

We have no affiliation with Dollar General.

This is what is supposed to be included in the clearance event:

Extra 50% off these categories (Friday, 10/20 – Sunday 10/22):

  • Swim & Summer Toys (excludes chalk and bubbles, most likely as they have been excluded all along).
  • Select Lawn & Garden (usually excludes grills, fans, charcoal, coolers, and maybe other items, please verify prices with the DG app).
  • Yellow Dot & Green Star Apparel, Shoes, and Accessories
  • Select Sun Care (I think most of the included is Studio Selections, but some of that might be excluded too.  Again, use the DG app to verify the price in your store.)
  • Select Antibacterial Wipes, Hand Sanitizers, and Face Masks
  • Select Insecticides:

Plus 50% off regular retail price of (Friday, 10/20 – Sunday 10/22):

  • Red Dot Home

Buy one get one deals (Friday, 10/20 – Thursday, 10/26):

  • Mix and Match Home “buy one get one free” including throw pillows, towels, dish towels, dinnerware, floral, bath accessories (there may be other items that ring up bogo also, you will need to scan in the DG app to verify.  Usually when an instant savings is applied, it will say below the item in the app).  Also, exclusions on the buy one get one free are red dot, brown dot, harvest, and Christmas.

Buy one get one 75% off (Friday, 10/20 – Thursday, 10/26):

  • Blue Dot Toys buy one get one 75% off
  • Yellow Star Toys buy one get one 75% off

I see NO MENTION of green dot being included in this seasonal clearance event.  It may be included come Friday, then again, someone at DG messed things up last clearance event so they might be excluding green dot this time.  Some items were “double dipping” on the extra 50% off last time.

And honestly, we don’t know if the clearance event will ring things up correctly until we do to the store on Friday and buy stuff.  Dollar General has a way of frequently messing up something when they have a clearance event.  The last clearance event,  I bought the flatware that was supposed to be buy one get one free, but they rang up buy one get one 50% off.  That’s a huge difference.  Be sure to check your receipt.  You should get in the habit of always checking your receipt though.

I know you all will be looking forward to Friday!

Happy shopping!
