Dollar General Clearance Event starts tomorrow!

The Dollar General clearance event starts tomorrow and (hopefully) there will be lots of great bargains out there! So much is included in this clearance event … EVEN the regular clearance (or core) clearance!

I say “hopefully” because Dollar General is known for their clearance not ringing up correctly during these events. I was in the Roscoe, Pa store and clearance wasn’t ringing correctly a few weeks back. The woman running the register said that her manager told her that they were not participating. What? I was kind of pissed over that … seriously, the ads are right in front of the store saying that they were having certain seasonal categories 50% off. We wasted gas to get there too.

Some shoppers who posted in my group said that their stores did overrides on the items – AS THEY SHOULD! It was an advertised sale and even in the flyer. Nothing irks me more than a company that doesn’t honor it’s own sales. It’s like they want to get people into the store … but then they don’t want to give them the deals. I just wonder how many people actually bought stuff that rang up incorrectly and got taken.

I’m not saying that Dollar General didn’t code the computers correctly on purpose, but they should follow through and tell the stores to honor the sale. I went on Dollar General’s website and emailed them about the sale, but nobody got back to me. I even ASKED in the email for someone to get back to me. I helped to advertise that sale/event by posting about it and feel bad that people wasted their time, even though there is nothing I can do to help.

Anyway, I am hoping that the clearance rings correctly tomorrow and through October 9th as it should. Stores will have an extra 50% off clearance including seasonal clearance categories.
