Dollar General Penny List TOY Chart / Graphic – updated!

I am getting a lot of people commenting and messaging that their yellow dot toys are NOT a penny.  Dollar General recycles their tag symbols and there are now NEW yellow dot toys out and these would be full price.  Also, what you might think is a “toy” might be considered an accessory.

First off, I am going to post the updated chart for toys, but remember there are always exclusions.  Items that still ring full price even though they fit in with the date and tag symbol.

From this chart, you can conclude that if you find a blue star on a toy AND the date on back is fall of 2015 or older, it should be a penny.  At this time, use the Dollar General App (this app is owned by Dollar General) to scan the toy to confirm.  If you have the Dollar Admiral Rapid Scanning App, that will also confirm the price.  The second app mentioned is a 3rd party app.

With the recent yellow dot toys pennying, there are other items toys being found that follow but do NOT have yellow dots.  These are inclusions.

For example, there are blue dot puzzle tins that pennied with the yellow dot toys.  There is a blue dot under the price, but these ARE a penny.  The pictures are from the Penny Puss APP with DG Penny Finder.  Since you can now scan with the Dollar General App to show real time prices, we are no longer listing every single penny item in our app.  It is redundant to scan in our app then scan in theirs to verify.  I thank you for your understanding.

Another example is the blue dot Tumbler cars.  These also followed yellow dot toys and pennied.

The plain yellow tag drones are also following yellow dot and pennied.

Some yellow tags with “peel here” on them also pennied along with yellow dot, but again,  check the dates.  You are looking for F16 and before.  I believe that most of these are S16 and they are most likely included.  Scan with your Dollar General App to verify.

There are several other unmarked items that people are finding for a penny.  Some of the recent penny items that are unmarked, but pennied with yellow dot are the Marvel Super Hero Tsum Tsums, Fuzzbies character plush toss balls, Fashionista Barbie, and even a Selfie Mic!

Scan with the Dollar General App to verify.

In addition to those items that you know are toys, the kid’s character table and chair sets are also considered toys!  This table will be only a single penny if you find it with a yellow dot!

There are also a variety of panoramic animal puzzles that have no tag and pennied with yellow dot toys.

And, again, check prices with your Dollar General App.  There are NEW toys coming out with yellow dots on them.  Here is an example that someone sent me through the Penny Puss APP with DG Penny Finder.

You can clearly see that the date box shows S20 … which means summer 2020 and that is next year.  The toy is new and not a penny.

Remember that some headbands and other accessories may or may not be considered toys.  If in doubt, scan them with the Dollar General App to check the price.

I hope that helped clear things up a bit!  Let me know if you have any questions!
