Dollar General Penny Shopping List for Nov 17

We have a bunch of over the counter medicines on the Dollar General penny list for this coming Tuesday!  I would like to talk about coupons and overage.  Dollar General has changed their policy and they are no longer allowing overage for coupons, not even digital.

But, the POS system has not been updated in all stores, so it still does work.  YMMV

Also, stores can refuse paper coupons on penny items as their policy now says “no overage”.  So, please do not blame the employees if they are enforcing their store’s policy.  While the manufacturer digital coupons may work, the DG “store” digitals will most likely not.  We have seen for a while now that the DG “store” digitals will bring your total for that item down to a penny.  For instance, if you have a DG “store” digital 50¢ off coupon on a 50¢ item, you will still have to pay a penny.  It will not make it free.

There is a difference between DG “store” digitals and manufacturer digitals.

The “store” ones will say it right on them.

Manufacturer digitals say “manufacturer” on them.  I would say to clip all the medicine coupons, just in case.  There may be surprise meds too.  But remember Dollar General will not give cash back if the overage works, you must buy other merchandise to cover the cost.

Also, please note that some medicines have limits on how many they can sell you.  Please don’t argue with them.

Also, they do not have to sell you expired products.
