Dollar General Purple Dot 70%
Purple dot home has stayed the same at Dollar General – still 70% off. For those new to penny shopping at Dollar General, purple dot is probably going to be pennying in the next few weeks (or months). We really don’t know for certain. We have no affiliation with Dollar General. They can change anything they want at any time.
So, if you are new to penny shopping and want to figure out how it works, you just have to get the feel of Dollar General’s merchandise and markdowns. Purple dot may be getting harder to find at your stores because people are buying the 70% off discounted merchandise. You look for the same thing as when you are looking for clearance … but when it pennies, you get it for a penny!
The stores are supposed to pull penny items off the sales floor, so we get what they miss. I hope I am not confusing anyone here. What I want to point out is that if you are new to penny shopping, get a feel for looking for clearance … then you will have a head start WHEN the items penny. The more you keep up with clearance deals and what is included, the easier it is to penny shop.
Remember:
Please do not make a mess.
Do not ask where the penny items are … they are supposed to pull them off the sales floor and we get what they miss.
By DG policy, they are supposed to sell pennies to you.
They do NOT have to let you go back for more if you don’t get them all.
The following is a screenshot from the Penny Puss App w/ DG Penny Finder. Our app no longer has scanning abilities. It’s a convenient way to get the penny list at a one-time cost in the app stores. We also no longer list all the items for such things as purple dot … but by the picture and a few UPC’s, you can get an idea what to look for. A couple of the items are “unmarked” and seem to be following purple dot. Hope this helps.
Also, be sure they are purple dot and not red dots. And, since some items are excluded, always check the price by scanning the UPC of the item in your DG app.
Happy shopping!
