Dollar General remodel locations updated information.

First off, I want to say that I am not sure if I am going to be able to continue finding the remodels.  We used Brickseek and by using them the way that we need to to find the remodels (not just me, but others looking for remodels), they are becoming a “Brick” … in other words … useless.  

I loved Brickseek at the beginning when we could search for the remodels and not get throttled or banned from the site altogether or from certain functions.  I was also really excited about the new features that they recently implemented that allows you to search more stores for the $9.99 membership plus an add on $7.99.  That is $17.98 or almost $18 just to search their site … but they are still warning us that we cannot use the site as we need to.  

The first message is from using the inventory checker searching by zip code instead of the “my stores” that you set:

I just messaged them back about this reply as my pool of stores is only a 32 mile radius, not 3-5 hours as indicated.  It is no use for me to pay for something that I cannot use sufficiently.  I also see it as quite expensive if you are just looking for remodels for yourself (and still may only be a 32 mile radius you can check) … $18 per month and may not get any in your area at all.  That’s $216 a year!  Yikes!  I would gladly pay if I could search more and not get throttled.

That is really the only reason that I would pay for Brickseek.  They no longer show in store Walmart deals … and only mediocre deals most of the time.  I find better deals on my own by searching the sites themselves.  

So anyway, I am trying to streamline the process of just checking the DG site to find the remodels, but that means that I probably won’t have time to find them all anymore … and I may just give up completely.  I’m still on the fence. 

I am also taking it slow right now … not completely shutting down, just need to get some other things accomplished so I am not posting much.  There is a lot going on in my life right now.

If you are new at shopping remodel location deals and pennies, I suggest you start there.  I only check to see if a location looks to be an upcoming remodel based on items that are 50% off.  I do not check to see if frozen is 50% off … or what all is going to go at each location.
