Dollar General very limited 3-day clearance event

Yes, there is a 3 day Dollar General clearance event that starts today, but it only includes some of the seasonal markdowns.  

Extra 50% off already reduced 

• Swim/summer (pink square tags) but excludes chalk and play balls 
• Select lawn/garden which usually excludes things like charcoal, fuel, grills 
• Yellow dot clothing, shoes, and accessories which excludes slippers and flip flops

Always use the DG app to verify the price in store.  The “extra” 50% off is from the 70% off price.  So, since these categories above are included and 70% off, then  the extra 50 percent will show them almost 90% when scanned in the app.  That should be the final price … already marked down the extra 50% in the app. 

Last clearance event, some stores were given authorization to mark items down more, but that was store by store … and some stores were doing it different than others. 

Green dot and purple dot are NOT included in this clearance event although they are also 70% off right now. 

• Red dot is 50% off the regular price. 
• Blue star and yellow star toys are buy one get one 75% off. 
• Ceramic vases and toss pillows are buy one get one free. 

This all may vary by store.  Honestly seems kind of lame to call it a clearance event.  Just my opinion.
