I bought (2) of the 5 tier original (deeper pockets than the Leaf version) and decided to set them up as only 3 tier, so I needed to buy one additional water reservoir for the additional 4 tiers that I have left. I hope this makes sense.
From 10 tiers total (2) 5 tier, I made (2) 3-tier and have 4 tiers left over but no water reservoir for the last 4 tier. So, anyway, I am now considering buying one more 5 tier GreenStalk original which would give me (5) more tiers. I have (4) left from prior purchase and with the additional (5), I will now have 9 tiers.
Then, I can break that down into (3) 3 tier GreenStalk vertical planters. The one 5 tier will have the water reservoir, but I will then need to order 2 more water reservoirs. They DO sell all pieces separately for this reason!
I did buy the wrong mix for containers, so I ended up mixing it with a bunch of perlite. I usually make my own potting mix, but decided to go a little “easy” this year, since my lower back is giving me trouble and am having trouble getting the gardening done right now.
And, I think I may get one rotating base as I may put one on my porch. The rotating base comes with a piece of plastic tubing to divert excess water.
