Have you noticed the high prices on case-buy veggies on Amazon?
As I’ve said in the past, I am not one to hype a deal if I really don’t feel that it is worth it. I also don’t purchase everything that I post. We all have different likes, dislikes, and preferences. So, I am not bashing Amazon by posting this comparison, but really want you to consider the free 90-day Walmart+ membership. There is no obligation and you may like it and want to pay the fee after 90-days. Right now, I do.
I have been paying for Walmart+ for a few months now and am not ready to commit to the yearly one-time fee, even if it will save me a couple bucks. I don’t trust any retailer to not change things and make it less beneficial after I have put my money out. But, with that said, I do find Walmart+ to be right up there where Amazon USED to be with their Prime.

Note that if you sign up at a different link other than the one right above this text, you may be offered a shorter trial. Why not make the most of it and get 90 days!
So back to Walmart+. They have been very good at the 2-day shipping, where Amazon is now changing some of their lower priced items to a longer shipping due to price. But isn’t that why people are paying $119 a year ($139 with the upcoming increase in membership cost).
I search daily for deals that I can post for my readers and I think that stocking up on essentials may be important right now with the supply chain issues were are seeing. I wouldn’t say to go overboard, but to just have a little more than you normally would on hand. Although I am no longer a Mormon, my parents were Mormon and I grew up in the church. They always advocated to have a year supply of food and water on hand. I don’t find that controversial at all … why not? You really never know what the next day or month or future will bring.
So, looking around on Amazon, I have seen that some of their cases of vegetables are twice as much (per can) than buying singly at Walmart. Instead of buying a 12 can case on Amazon, head over to Walmart and buy 12 single cans. It’s so much cheaper on about all the veggies I checked! Although I did find a decent deal on kidney beans on Amazon. I posted that here:
Bush’s Best Kidney Beans 12-pack case deal!
I am trying to weight the difference in Amazon Prime versus Walmart+ … and Walmart+ seems to be winning. Although, I do not use may of the Amazon Prime digital services that supposedly make it more worthwhile. I just really want free shipping and in a reasonable time period.
You can stock up on veggies by just buying multiple cans like Libby’s Cut Green Beans 76¢ a can – a case of 12 would be $9.12. And, you can save even more if you don’t mind Walmart’s store brands. A case of 12 of Walmart’s Great Value Green Beans would only be $6!
And with the Free 90-day Trial of Walmart+ – you would get free shipping to your home on any order (exclusions do apply).
From another post a while back:
Some of the reasons that I like it:
- Realtime prices for scanning while in store
- Free shipping no minimum!
- Free grocery delivery w/ $35 minimum
- I find it easier to sort by retailer than I do with Amazon.
The sorting by retailer is so helpful to me. I also filter to only sold by Walmart (and not 3rd party sellers).
Anyway, you I see no reason to pass up a free no obligation membership to Walmart+. Even if you don’t want to re-up after your free trial, you could use it to stock up on some essentials.
Happy shopping!
