How to find Dollar General Remodel Stores

So, you want to check out a Dollar General remodel store. I have made a quick video on how I find the remodels. It is a long, time-consuming process.

Here is the video of how I find them. I have only been doing this for a couple weeks. I am not an expert on remodels. The items that actually penny at each location is different. After finding a remodel that you want to go to, you will need to go into your DG app and see what items are unique markdowns at that particular store.

Add those items to your “list” in the DG app. Then check the app on Sunday mornings to see if everything went to $0.00. That is usually an indication that your store is pennying that day. But, you might want to recheck a few of the UPC’s by inputting them manually to be sure it’s not just some kind of odd glitch in the app.

There are no guarantees on penny shopping. The store is supposed to pull the penny items from the sales floor. We get what they miss. Some stores are much better at pulling the items than others.

As always, be respectful of the store, employees, and other shoppers.

You will need to be prepared as sometimes there will be a line way before they open. There are groups that go to many of the remodels and they think they own the place. I’m not saying all shoppers that do a bunch of remodels … but there are some who block aisles and also claim that they are in line because they were in the parking lot first. Honestly, I feel that if I go to the door, you better get out of your car and stand at the door too. There are mixed feelings about this as some say that standing in line will alert the stores to pull the items (if they don’t know already).

I just want you to be aware of what you are getting into at a remodel. With that said, it can be fun … but that is why I personally would just want to stay local.
