I ordered Organic Produce from Misfits Market
I honestly think that it’s important to eat organic when you can. There are additional brands that I like in the stores that are not necessarily organic, but state right on them that they are pesticide-free.
The chemicals used in pesticides can’t be good for us. The problem for me is that I live in an area that really lacks in organic produce … and when I can find it, it often looks bad.
I try to put in a small garden each year and I do grow my own microgreens as well as mung bean sprouts. Pea microgreens are so easy and they are delicious! Plus, I grow mushrooms from time to time.
Here are some of the pea microgreens that I have grown. They are so lush! I eat them raw … not sure what they would be like cooked.
So, anyway, back to buying organic produce – it’s hard to find good organic produce in my area. There are some organics available, but the selection is quite limited.
I have been hearing about the Misfits Market which is an organic produce subscription service.
They have 2 different boxes to choose from and you can choose either weekly or every other week. I chose every other week. One box is $22 and the other is $35. You can also buy additional “add-ons” at discounted prices.
I bought the $35 box and shipping is only $4.50-$5.50 depending on where you live. I was tempted to buy some add-ons, but I want to see how fast (or slow) we go through the first box before deciding that I want to add more items to an order. They even had pea shoot microgreens as an add-on, but as I said, I do grow my own.
For the $35 box, I got 14 choices. There was a list to choose 6, a different list to choose 6, and then a list to choose 2 items. So, here is what I am supposed to have delivered on Friday:
- Organic yellow potatoes
- Organic red potatoes
- Organic green bell peppers
- Organic romaine lettuce
- Organic ginger
- Organic fennel
- Organic zucchini
- Organic spaghetti squash
- Organic bunched red radishes
- Organic collard greens
- Organic red cabbage
- Organic bunched red beets
- Organic celery
- Organic bunched broccoli
If you want to save on a shipment, you can use my referral code when you join.
Referral code COOKWME-AU1JMVNHEKD – you get $15 off and I also get $15 off when someone joins with my referral.
It is a subscription plan, but the site says that you can skip shipments as well as cancel at any time.
I will hopefully get pictures loaded up on Friday when my box is delivered! I am really looking forward to this!
Happy shopping!
