Live and Let Live – know that I am a friend!

I have debated with myself over this post, but I feel like it’s important even though you may find it annoying or you may even be angry that it’s not what you think I should be posting.  If you don’t agree with me, I am  fine with that.  You don’t have to agree … we can agree to disagree, but I am here for people who feel marginalized, traumatized, and scared about the upcoming change of power in our country.  I am a human being like the rest of you and I care about people.  

I am not a social person, but my heart is with you.  My heart is with everyone who is hurting and feels like the new administration will take away their freedoms. 

I am hurting too.  If you don’t care, that is fine … I hold enough care and heartache for all of us. 

I am not blaming people who voted for Trump, maybe you had a good reason … although I don’t know what it could be.  I am stumped.

The economy had recovered so much better than it was in other countries after Covid … it was clearly on the mend, but yes, prices were high … but Biden doesn’t control prices.  I feel like businesses took advantage of this time to hike prices because they saw secondary markets selling harder to find items at high prices.  Most big businesses are not your friends … they are out to make a profit.

Trump tariffs will be like a tax on all goods.  Just like Mexico never paid for the wall … other countries will also not pay for the tariffs, you will. 

Yes, we need to fix immigration, but it was Trump who told speaker Johnson to kill the BIPARTISAN immigration bill, because it would help HIM with his campaign.  Yes, more immigrants will come in while it helps him with his campaign. 

Women are equal to men.  I see these nasty remarks that men own women’s bodies now.  Ladies, did you vote for this?  I want all of you men to remember that you would be nothing without your mother. 

And this macho crap … what the heck is that?  That is school yard bully stuff right there.  Men don’t have to be macho and women don’t have to be feminine.  We need a little more kindness and acceptance.  Stop telling people who they should be.

I am saddened that some of you do not want others to live their lives to the fullest in THEIR own way.  You want to force them to assimilate into what you feel is the right way.  But, this is what our country is about … liberty (yes, liberty for everyone) and justice for everyone.  

You can see that I don’t like Trump and it’s only because his actions have showed us over and over who he really is, but somehow you still believe him.  I never watched his shows as I don’t watch much television, but his character throughout the whole time he has been on the national stage has been dark and demeaning.  That isn’t something that I can like.

How many Americans died in big cities from Covid during his watch?  He scrapped Obama’s pandemic plan, so there was no plan.  What did he say “drink bleach” or “inject bleach”.  Really?

And, in case you didn’t know, Trump said he did get the Covid Vaccine.  

Some of you want religion back in school … but only your religion.  Is that what Jesus would do?  I don’t think Jesus forced anyone to believe a certain way.  

So, maybe you don’t want abortion to be legal.  Well, I don’t “like” abortion either … but banning it altogether now makes doctors and healthcare workers afraid to go forward with helping a mother during a miscarriage.  If something goes wrong, they now wait until the mother may or may not live because they could possibly go to jail.  Why is a fetus more important than a living breathing woman?  Someone else’s abortion is not about you – the government shouldn’t come between you and your doctor.  

And since we are controlling women’s bodies, I would like to see the death penalty for rape.  Why?  Because a man does not own a woman.  You are taking everything from that woman … and that should have a high price.

With the bans that are being put on abortion, other women’s healthcare will most likely also go downhill.  Why would doctors want to go into a practice for something that they may have to make a life saving decision for a woman, but can’t.  Doctors won’t want the risk of possibly going to jail.  

I think Kamala Harris would have made a good president.  She is a good person who was demonized by the right.  I don’t agree with everything Biden has done and I am sure I don’t agree with everything Kamala Harris had planned, but they are good people trying to help our country.  We can work on differences, but if we lose our democracy we will not get it back.  Democracy is not a bad word … it means “the people rule”.  

To all of you, I reach out to tell you that I care about you and I see you.  I am sorry for all of you who are hurting.  

This post is written in LOVE and not hate.  I love our country, the country that Trump tried to overthrow last election.  I have sadness in my heart … but we will be okay.  We have to be okay. 

Life is hard enough without others telling you they can be!  You be you!

We are still the United States of America and I hope we can stay that way.
