No military discount for in store pickup at Lowes!

I’m a little bit annoyed this morning.  I had planned on ordering rock and edging this morning then running over to Lowes to pick it up.  Well, I guess the military/veteran discount is only available in stores now.

I mean, seriously, I had to sign up for an account to qualify to use the discount and I still have to show ID in store to prove who I am.  So, why couldn’t they do the same for online orders for pickup in store?

I ordered online for pickup a few weeks back and it worked, then the next day it didn’t take a discount off.  So, I thought it was a glitch that it didn’t work.  But, I see on their site today, that it’s only available in store now.

Lowes Military Discount Program

This seems a bit crazy in today’s society where people don’t always conform to the old fashioned mores of taking on your spouses name when you marry:

Where and how can I use my Military Discount?
Your Military Discount can only be used in store on eligible purchases only.
Give the cashier your phone number or MyLowe’s card along with a valid photo ID, and the discount will be applied to your purchase. For spouses of registered service members, your last name must match the service member’s last name.

And, yes, it’s nice that they offer the discount … but it is also annoying that they seemingly can’t trust people with it.

I’m annoyed this morning, so that is my take.  What do you think?
