Rite Aid: I was charged more money when I picked up my order!
So, I ordered online for pickup at my local Rite Aid to get my grandma some batteries for her hearing aids.
The site is ridiculous to begin with as it takes a few tries sometimes to get anything to add to the cart AND get them everything to show for “pickup”. The cart would show one for pickup and one for delivery. You really have to check before placing your order.
So, anyway, I finally got 2 packs of batteries and some garbage bags in my cart for pickup Monday evening (used a coupon and the batteries were supposed to also be on sale). I used my BonusCash to pay, but the site says that you need another payment method because it’s finalized in store with points.
You can see my initial Paypal authorization of $23.20 here (since canceled because the my BonusCash paid for it):
That was my total. There were NO substitutions. When I was handed my receipt, it was different than the total I was initially given. Honestly … I would have just returned everything. I mean, quoted one price and then charge OVER $10 more … a little bit frustrated at this point!
And, I couldn’t return because I already told my grandma that I was going to try to get her some batteries. I used a coupon and the batteries were supposed to be on sale, but something didn’t work right.
I messaged Rite Aid on Facebook and they took the information on Tuesday morning and said to give them 24 to 48 hours. Today is Friday, I have still not heard anything.
I am a fairly patient person, but I really feel this needs to be addressed … and how many others has this happened to and they didn’t notice they were being charged more on pickup?
I called today and was told that there is already a ticket in for this problem and I will just have to wait until they contact me.
I will update when Rite Aid finally contacts me. I really think it should have been easily solved quickly by just giving me the overcharge back in my BonusCash.
I’m not a happy shopper!
