UPDATE: Dollar General 3-Day Sale – just stay home!

Well, I was excited about the Dollar General 3-day sale that started today. And, yes, it is an ADVERTISED sale that can be found right in their sale ad. But, guess what? It isn’t working so well today.

The sale is supposed to be Green Dot Home, Swim/Summer, and Lawn/Garden (with some exclusions as seen in the ad). But, Green Dot Home and Swim/Summer weren’t working at all.

A friend of mine messaged me this morning and said that it wasn’t working right. I had also planned on going and figured that maybe Dollar General didn’t code the sale right in the register. (as they are known for in most sales) So, I went and figured that they would override it … it IS in the ad.

But, surprisingly, no. They said that the store wasn’t participating in the sale. The ad flyer is also available right at the front of the store … and the sale is RIGHT IN THERE!!! The woman working the register said that they didn’t put signs up because her manager told her that they weren’t participating. Again, signs up or not … it’s in the ad!

Yes, I’m quite perturbed about this whole false advertising thing that seems to be going on here. I thought that there were laws to cover stuff like this. Well, I went back in (after not buying my cart of green dot home stuff) and decided to buy something anyway … because I wanted to get a receipt to do the survey. Well, the survey didn’t print. Go figure! It’s almost like they knew people would be filling out that survey to complain about this sale.

Anyway, I did message Dollar General about this sale and asked for a call-back. Hopefully someone will call me back.
