Walmart+ FREE 90-day Trial!

In case you missed this buried in one of my old posts, Walmart is offering a free 90-day trial of their Walmart+ service.  When I signed up, it was only a 15-day trial that was extended another 15 days for taking a survey.  I pay monthly now and I find it well worth it too!

A while back Walmart changed their app so that most deep discount clearance prices do not show when you scan the item – even if you are in the store!  To see correct prices, you need the Walmart+ service and you need to use the “scan & go” function in the Walmart app under the bottom tab that says “services”.  If you use the barcode scanner that is the at the top of the app (in the right corner) the prices may not be accurate.

Check out the benefits here:

I honestly did not see Walmart+ as a rival to Amazon Prime, but I do now.

Some of the reasons that I like it:

  • Realtime prices for scanning while in store
  • Free shipping no minimum!
  • Free grocery delivery w/ $35 minimum
  • I find it easier to sort by retailer than I do with Amazon.

It used to be that 3rd-party sellers mostly priced items lower than the stores, but in the last couple years it has seemed to swing the opposite way.  With shortages of products, many 3rd-party sellers seem to try to gouge your pocketbook.

So, when I am looking for something to buy (that I can get shipped free with my membership), I choose to go to the retailer tab and search only Walmart items.

I have found a ton of unmarked clearance using the scan & go feature too!  The intent is to scan your items and place them in bags in your cart so that you just have to scan a quick barcode at checkout, but the real benefit is seeing the clearance prices while you shop!

I check endcap items, items that look seasonal, items that other people post, and I really do find a lot of items that way.

Happy shopping!
