Dollar General $5 off $25 scenarios for Saturday 10/3

These deals are valid Saturday, 10/3/20 at Dollar General using the $5 off $25 coupon and individual product digital coupons.

I have information below for anyone new to Dollar General.

But a quick reminder to all:

  • Prices may vary.  Scan each item at the store to verify the price and the digital coupon is still attaching correctly.
  • You need to be at $25 after instant savings, but before coupons for the $5/$25 to deduct.

Use these scenarios as is, or mix and match items based on your needs and available coupons. Check out our Dollar General all digital deals post. to help build your own scenario or for filler ideas.

This first scenario uses mostly digital coupons that just came out this week.

For the next scenario, note the Ajax dish detergent is 52oz, but Palmolive is only 40oz this week. So unless you really prefer Palmolive, you get more for your money buying the Ajax.

This next scenario is a great example of when you can spend LESS, by buying MORE!  The 35lb bag of  dog food would be $15.95 after $2 digital coupon. But in the scenario below you get an additional 2 items but pay $13.45 ($2.50 LESS).

This next scenario includes an instant savings deal. Remember, instant savings deduct first. We need to be at $25 after instant savings for the $5/$25 to still deduct.

Instant savings come off automatically at the register. You do not need to clip it like you do with a digital coupon.

Note: when I searched the Polident in the app, the digital did not show as attaching. But when the item was scanned the coupon attached.

There are literally millions of possible $5/$25 scenarios. It is possible, one I show may be perfect for you, but most likely you will need to change them up based on your needs, preferences and available coupons. Use our Dollar General all digital coupon deals post for lots of great ideas to build your own great scenario.

How to use digital coupons at Dollar General:

  • Go to the DG App or DG Coupons on their website and make an account with your email and phone number.
  • “Clip” the coupons to your account.
  • When making a purchase, enter your phone number into the pin pad while the cashier scans your items.
  • Once you have entered your phone number, the cashier can hit total and your digitals will deduct.

If using a $5 off $25 digital coupon, your total needs to be at least $25, BEFORE coupons but AFTER instant savings. Tax does not count toward the $25 total. Hand over any manufacturer paper coupons after digitals have applied.

If using a $5 off $25 paper coupon, have the cashier scan it prior to applying digital coupons. Then enter your phone number for digital coupons to apply. Last, hand over any manufacturer paper coupons.

**Scan items with the app to double check you have the digital coupon clipped and it is still attaching properly.**

*Not everyone will have every digital. You may not have received it. Or you didn’t clip it in time. Or you already used it.

*Prices may vary by location or items may be on clearance. So the price I show may be different than at your store.

*I strongly encourage you to use the DG app to scan items at your store to verify price and coupon is attaching properly.

*Occasionally the app does not show a coupon attaching when scanned from home, but will when scanned at the store. If I have it in a scenario I confirmed it at time of posting.

*Occasionally in your app “list” it will not deduct the $5/$25 coupon for your final cost. It happens to me but it does indeed deduct at the register!

*Digital coupons are one time use!

*Use these scenarios as guides. Mix and Match items you want and have coupons for.
