Dollar General $5 off $25 ALL DIGITAL scenarios for Saturday 9/5

These scenarios are all valid for Saturday 9/5/20 with the $5 off $25 coupon.

There is information below for anyone new to Dollar General and how digitals work. But a reminder to everyone …use the DG app to scan products to verify price and digital coupon is still properly attaching.

Check out lots of great  Dollar General weekly digital deals  to help build your own scenario or if looking for filler items if you are a little shy of the $25 threshold.

This first scenario is good for new people. The digitals all came out this week, so someone new is more likely to have them.

This next scenario shows how often times you can pay less when you buy more items! You would pay $15.95 for the 35lb dog food alone after digital. And that’s a good price. But pair it with a few cheap items and the $5 off $25 and you pay just $13.45 for everything. You actually pay $2.50 LESS than if you just bought the dog food!

But don’t feel pressured to use the $5 off $25. Let’s say you just have a few dollars but you need dog food. Maybe it would better for you to just buy one bag of Beneful and pay just $2.95 after digital coupon. But if you need other items then put together a scenario like this. And maybe see if a friend or neighbor wants to split a deal with you. You each pay half and split the items up. That way neither of you is out much cash but you still benefit from the additional $5/$25 savings.

Here is a really low out of pocket scenario.

Another scenario where you pay less for all 6 items than you would just for the (2) vitamins. The 2 vitamins would cost you $7 after digital coupons. But this scenario gets you the vitamins and 4 more items for $6.50.

*Not everyone will have every digital. You may not have received it. Or you didn’t clip it in time. Or you already used it.

*Prices may vary by location or items may be on clearance. So the price I show may be different than at your store.

*I strongly encourage you to use the DG app to scan items at your store to verify price and coupon is attaching properly.

*Occasionally the app does not show a coupon attaching when scanned from home, but will when scanned at the store. If I have it in a scenario I confirmed it at time of posting.

*Occasionally in your app “list” it will not deduct the $5/$25 coupon for your final cost. It happens to me but it does indeed deduct at the register!

*Digital coupons are one time use!

*Use these scenarios as guides. Mix and Match items you want and have coupons for.

How to use digital coupons at Dollar General:

  • Go to the DG App or DG Coupons on their website and make an account with your email and phone number.
  • “Clip” the coupons to your account.
  • When making a purchase, enter your phone number into the pin pad while the cashier scans your items.
  • Once you have entered your phone number, the cashier can hit total and your digitals will deduct.

If using a $5 off $25 digital coupon, your total needs to be at least $25, BEFORE coupons but AFTER instant savings. Tax does not count toward the $25 total. Hand over any manufacturer paper coupons after digitals have applied.

If using a $5 off $25 paper coupon, have the cashier scan it prior to applying digital coupons. Then enter your phone number for digital coupons to apply. Last, hand over any manufacturer paper coupons.

**Scan items with the app to double check you have the digital coupon clipped and it is still attaching properly.**
