Dollar General all digital scenarios using the $5 off $25 coupon. Valid 11/28/20.

The information is included in this post for anyone new to Dollar General.

But a quick reminder to all:

  • Prices may vary.  Scan each item at the store to verify the price and the digital coupon is still attaching correctly.  You need to be at $25 after instant savings, but before coupons for the $5/$25 to deduct.
  • Use these scenarios as is, or mix and match items based on your needs and available coupons.

Check out our posts with individual deals for ideas to build your own scenario or for substitutions:

Dollar General ALL DIGITAL coupon deals

Dollar General 3 day sale

Scenario #1 uses digital coupons that came out this week.

Scenario #2

An example of how to substitute items. It’s just 2 items different than scenario #1.

Note: Dollar General has changed their coupon policy to exclude overage. However they have not updated all their registers yet. This scenario may give $1 overage.  If your tax is going to be at least $1 it will apply to that, otherwise, be prepared to add something to your order. DG employees are not allowed to give cash back.

Scenario #3

A good example of when you pay less when you buy more.

If you buy just the Poise and Always Discreet, you would pay $11 after digital coupons. But add on a couple high value coupon items to take advantage of the $5/$25, and pay $6.50 for all 4 items.

Scenario #4

An all food and beverage scenario.

Scenario #5

Scenario #6 is for our furry friends.

How to use digital coupons at Dollar General:

  • Go to the DG App or DG Coupons on their website and make an account with your email and phone number.
  • “Clip” the coupons to your account.
  • When making a purchase, enter your phone number into the pin pad while the cashier scans your items.
  • Once you have entered your phone number, the cashier can hit total and your digitals will deduct.

If using a $5 off $25 digital coupon, your total needs to be at least $25, BEFORE coupons but AFTER instant savings. Tax does not count toward the $25 total. Hand over any manufacturer paper coupons after digitals have applied.
If using a $5 off $25 paper coupon, have the cashier scan it prior to applying digital coupons. Then enter your phone number for digital coupons to apply. Last, hand over any manufacturer paper coupons.
**Scan items with the app to double check you have the digital coupon clipped and it is still attaching properly.**

*Not everyone will have every digital. You may not have received it. Or you didn’t clip it in time. Or you already used it.

*Prices may vary by location or items may be on clearance. So the price I show may be different than at your store.

*I strongly encourage you to use the DG app to scan items at your store to verify price and coupon is attaching properly.

*Occasionally the app does not show a coupon attaching when scanned from home, but will when scanned at the store. If I have it in a scenario I confirmed it at time of posting.

*Occasionally in your app “list” it will not deduct the $5/$25 coupon for your final cost. It happens to me but it does indeed deduct at the register!

*Digital coupons are one time use!

*Use these scenarios as guides. Mix and Match items you want and have coupons for.
