Dollar General Christmas is going to 10¢ Tuesday … OR IS IT?
Okay, that sounds kind of crazy for a title, but Dollar General said this around the same time last year. They sent the stores paperwork that Christmas was going to 10¢, but at the last minute they cancelled it!
Yes, last year they told the stores that Christmas was going to 10¢ and then abruptly cancelled it and had a 50% off clearance event instead. That is why we say check back Tuesday morning before the stores open. We will verify to be sure that Dollar General didn’t change their mind!
So, if this clearance markdown happens on Tuesday, January 28th, this is what will be included:
Pretty much anything that is ringing up 25¢ now.
Christmas “gift sets” – this is what DG calls them, but they are NOT actually gift sets. The gift sets carry over to Valentine’s Day.

Fall hardware – also not really what you might expect.
Welch’s sparkling juice, holiday baking, Christmas candy – much of the candy will be going over to Valentine’s Day and will not be included. Look for obvious Christmas looking items and check with your DG app.
