Dollar General Clearance Event starts Tomorrow!

The Dollar General Clearance Event starts tomorrow.  I have decided to put together a few clearance coupon deals.  Remember though, these items are on clearance so they may not be available any longer at your Dollar General.

This clearance event is as follows:

Some items will be 50% off their regular price, while others will be 50% off their already reduced prices. (or 70% or $1 or less, whatever your store is doing.)

I’ll start with the 50% off regular priced items.  These will be 50% off their original price, NOT an extra 50% off:

  • Swim and summer
  • Beach towels
  • Green dot home
  • Red dot home
  • Lawn Garden
  • SELECT stores will have 50% off yellow dot clothing, some stores may already be at 50%, so they will not have any additional markdown on yellow dot clothing.

These will be an additional 50% off the already reduced clearance prices:

  • Clearance section (varies)
  • Select suncare (50% off now)
  • Summer BBQ foods (70% off now)
  • Yellow star toys (25% off now)
  • Select ASOTV (varies)

I am posting some of the more recent markdowns that you may have a little more luck with finding.  There are lists and lists and even more lists of clearance.  Some stores are very good at marking clearance as such and others are not.  You could find these items in the clearance area, on regular shelves, or even on top shelves.  Most stores will most likely be doing the 50% off clearance, but some stores may be doing 70%, or even $1 and under clearance.  The graphics are showing what your store will ring up if your store is 50% or 70%.

So, if you have 2 devices that you can scan the UPC’s in these graphics, you can figure out what your local store’s percentage is.  For example, scan a barcode in one of the graphics and see what the price is compared to the 50% or 70% price.  If the store you have selected in your app shows  the 50% price, then other clearance at that store will ring 50% also.  If you do not have 2 devices, you can go to “scan” on your DG APP and put in the barcode manually.  When the scanner comes up, there is a place above to manually enter it.  Save the item to your list … then, you can change stores and see what the percentage-off is at your other local stores.

If your store is doing the $1 and under clearance, it is self explanatory.  The clearance will be $1 and under.  This is rare, but it has happened at select stores.

These graphics show the price after clearance percentage and do not show the coupon deducted.

The two items above would give you overage if your store is doing the 70% when the digital coupon is used.  A digital coupon is one-time use.  So you will only get the coupon off one item.

How to use digital coupons at Dollar General:

  • Go to the DG App or DG Coupons on their website and make an account with your email and phone number.
  • “Clip” the coupons to your account.
  • When making a purchase, enter your phone number into the pin pad while the cashier scans your items.
  • Once you have entered your phone number, the cashier can hit total and your digitals will deduct.

If using a $5 off $25 digital coupon, your total needs to be at least $25, BEFORE coupons but AFTER instant savings. Tax does not count toward the $25 total. Hand over any manufacturer paper coupons after digitals have applied. If using a $5 off $25 paper coupon, have the cashier scan it prior to applying digital coupons. Then enter your phone number for digital coupons to apply. Last, hand over any manufacturer paper coupons.
**Scan items with the app to double check you have the digital coupon clipped and it is still attaching properly.**

Another item for overage if your store is doing the 70% off is the Men’s 50+ One a Day shown here – the digital coupon will give you 84¢ overage.  You cannot get money back, it is against their policy.  Please have other items to cover any overage.

If your store is 50% off, your price is the $3.60 – $3 digital making your purchase only 60¢.  If any of this is confusing, please comment and I’ll see if I can explain it better.

This razor is a money-maker for 50% or 70% stores!

Colgate 4.6 oz Enamel Health.

Please note that some clearance may vary by store.  Also, please keep in mind that when you scan an item at Dollar General and you have the coupon clipped already, it will show you the AFTER COUPON price.  I know that I have gotten confused thinking the coupon was coming off that price, but the coupon is already showing deducted.

If you have any questions or find any errors or even want to add a deal, please let us know!  Thanks!
