Dollar General Penny List and New Clearance Markdowns!

The Dollar General penny list this week is select non-core private brand suncare.  Non-core means that they do not carry it year round.  It may be reset to full price at some point if they decide to carry them again for this coming summer season.

We are not affiliated with Dollar General and can only give you the best information that we have.  We here at Penny Puss have been posting the Dollar General penny lists since 2014.  We have a good idea of how things get marked down and what will and will not get marked down.

We started posting about penny shopping because there was so much misinformation out there.  There also was no DG app at that time to verify prices.  We now have the app so that it makes it much easier, although it is occasionally wrong.  Always verify in the DG app.

Christmas decorations and stationery 70% (Trees, gift wrap, and some lights will not be included.  They were “sale” and have gone back to full price.) 

Christmas baking 50% and candy (Also, a lot of the candy will move over to Valentine’s and stay full price too.)

Christmas gift sets (most are NOT included) 50%
– every year they say “gift sets” but pretty much the only items that markdown with Christmas are obvious “Christmas themed” … the regular gift sets will be moved over to Valentine’s Day and stay at full price.

The picture of the pump soaps is an example of the “gift sets” that are included in the markdowns. As I mentioned, regular gift sets are mostly not included. There may be a few others that are included, but I could not find any others at our local store.

Christmas storage 25% (Some of the holiday storage did not go any lower than 50% last year and then reset to full price.) We have no affiliation with Dollar General and they can change things up at any time.  Prior years, they did go all the way down to a penny though, after going through the clearance process.
