Dollar General Penny List for Nov 2 (with Visuals!)

We have a huge penny list for this coming Tuesday at Dollar General.  Actually there are two penny lists.  One is a food list and the other is a bunch of seasonal categories.  The food items on the list are only about 10% off right now and should penny on Tuesday.

The seasonal list items are 70-90% off right now and also should penny on Tuesday.  We have no affiliation with Dollar General and they can always change things up, so be sure to use the Dollar General app to verify prices before going to the register.

Also, note that Dollar General does not have to sell expired foods, so they can refuse sale if a product is past the “best buy” date.  As with most penny food lists, I expect to see a few surprise pennies on Tuesday.

Many of these items have been on clearance for a long time and may not be available in your local store.  Also, some items penny at only select stores, so we always say “YMMV”.

The food list is as follows:

Seasonal clearance that should penny:

There are a lot of EXCLUSIONS including hoses, grills, charcoal, lighter fluid, pool noodles, and more.  Use the Dollar General app to verify prices.  Some green dot beach towels were not marking down and may also be excluded.

Clothing is only available at select stores.  It seems that Dollar General is remodeling most of it’s stores and no longer selling clothing in most places.  It is very easy for a store to miss clothing items as stores that do carry clothing ususally have a lot of clothing to sort through.

As always, YMMV – Your Mileage May Vary.  In other words, you may have a different experience than others AKA some items may not penny or be marked down at some stores.

If you are new to penny shopping, please note that you shoud not ask about pennies.  The store is supposed to pull the items and take them off the sales floor.  We get what they miss.  While they are supposed to sell you the pennies by their own policy, they DO NOT have to let you go back for more.  Also, if an item is expired, they can refuse sale.

I cannot possibly post pictures of all the items that are included, but I will post some to give you an idea of what to look for.  Again, check items with your DG app to verify.  Penny items show as $0.00 when scanned with the app.  Also, be sure your app is set to the correct location so you do not get erroneous results.

Lawn and garden:

Flair pens:

Australian Gold Suncare:

Spring party (paper plates, napkins, and cups):

Green dot door mats:

Green dot outdoor mats:

Green dot bakeware:

Swim and summer toys:

Patriotic and 4th of July:

There are also some items that we might call “hidden” pennies.  This does not mean that we hide anything.  It means that they have no markings to indicate that they are following a certain tag symbol.  These also should penny on Tuesday.

Signs are green dot or following green dot – pillows (unmarked) too, but they are NCI only stores.

If you are new to penny shopping or never found a penny, this Tuesday might be a good time to go.  There are so many items that your store would most likely have something that has pennied.  Some items like the “hidden” items are easily overlooked.

Happy shopping!
