Dollar General Penny List posted is actually a recall!

Someone sent me a screenshot of a penny list for Dollar General that is in a group on Facebook.  The list is of several over the counter acid-reducer medicines.  This is not a penny list as far as we know.  These are  recalled items.

I forgot all about the recall.  This was a few weeks ago when the ingredient ranitidine was recalled due to cancer risk.  I remember seeing a man looking around the OTC meds and he said that everyone else must have heartburn too.  I told him that Zantac had been recalled due to cancer risk.

FDA Updates on Recall

I forgot all about that until this “so called” list popped up.   Anyway, the DG app says that it is a penny until you add it to the list and then it says $0.00 … so it probably would not ring up.  Even if it did, would you really want it?

With that said, there is also an adult beverage list going around and since last year it didn’t penny until a few weeks after the list came out, we are unsure of it too.  This may be YMMV, some states don’t sell these items in Dollar General.  We do not, however, post this type of item on our website or in the Penny Puss APP with DG Penny Finder as the laws are strict on these type items.

I am looking forward to the Christmas clearance going to 10¢ … although there really isn’t much left at our stores.  The holiday storage should be included, but we will check first thing in the morning for you!

Happy shopping!
