Dollar General remodel store this morning! 53¢ later …

Good morning!  Did a quick run to a Dollar General that is getting ready to remodel.  Check your store if you are watching a remodel, some open at 7 am.  I was still in bed at 6:30 contemplating going.  I have heard “horror” stories about some rude shoppers at remodels, but this morning went smoothly.

So, I got my husband up.  I didn’t even brush my hair or have a cup of coffee.  We got to the Dollar General just a few minutes before they opened.  I wasn’t sure I was going so I really didn’t do my homework on what was going to penny … except for the yellow and white dot clothing and shoes as well as some coloring books.  Others did send me pictures of additional items such as toys, but that aisle was partially blocked and other shoppers started there.  Remodel pennies vary by store.

I ended up with 53 items total.  The cashier was extremely nice.  Most of the local stores around here have great employees.

The last remodel that I went to (a couple months ago), the store reduced their frozen food to 50% off the week before the store was set to remodel.  The store today did not reduce it’s frozen items.  You can check out our group on Facebook and search for remodels to see what you might find at a penny remodel.

Again, remember to scan everything with the Dollar General app as remodels vary on their items.

To find a remodel store, you can check your local store for markdowns that are not at all stores – and ask an employee if you think they might be remodeling.  Also, you can put items that others have found as pennies in the DG app and switch stores to see if any stores around you have those items marking down.
