Dollar General Remodels – how to find them.

I have been getting a lot of questions about Dollar General remodels and how to find them. I usually just tell the person to post in the group as I don’t know as much about remodels as others do.  Also, they want to know why they have to pay for a remodel (not from me, from other groups). Well, the reason you have to pay them, is that the people selling them are doing all the work finding them for you. So, why not learn how to find them yourself.

The items are not always the same in remodels. Sometimes certain items penny at one remodel and not another. That is why you should have several items to check. This is what I suggest:

Go to Brickseek’s Dollar General Inventory Checker

So far, I have found 3 possible remodel stores in California using this method (items 50% off last checked 3/25/2022).

—-> List of Dollar General stores in California and if you go to the California store link, there are 3 that show a couple items that are 50% off now.

—-> List of Dollar General stores in Pennsylvania there is one Harrisburg store that is 50% off on the party cups as of 3/26/2022.  I gave up about 1/2 way through the list as Brickseek was messing up a lot.

I have not checked other states at this time, but here is the list of stores with links to each state.  You can check by each store’s zip code.

Then, put your zip code in and the following UPC:

Then hit “check inventory”.  If the item comes back as 50% off, you may have a remodel coming up!  There are different kinds of remodels and with full remodels when they close the store, the frozen food usually goes to 50% off the week before.  So, go ahead and put this UPC in brickseek:

If this item or other frozen items are showing 50% off, you most likely have a full remodel and Sunday these items will penny with the other items at your remodel.

Always verify with the Dollar General app!  If you have 2 devices, you can scan the UPC’s on this page in your Dollar General app to verify Brickseek’s information.

Honestly, if you think a store is going to remodel, just ask.  Ask if they are closing so that you don’t make an unnecessary trip.  This will help you gauge the Sunday that items will penny.  Remember that items WHEN SCANNED with the Dollar General app come up as $0.00.

Along with these UPC’s, be sure to watch what other group members are getting at their remodels and check those items.  Again though, not all items are the same at all remodels.
