My CVS couponing haul today!

My CVS haul today was pretty simple, but with CVS, not everyone gets the same coupons, so it’s not so easy to replicate a scenario.  The toothbrushes was easy and as long as you have the $5 off 3 Crest and the $1 off 1, you should be able to get 4 toothbrushes for $5.94 and get $6 back in Extra Bucks.  So, like free after Extra Bucks.

Also, the Scott deal was awesome, in my opinion, because that is the brand that I use.  Buy (2) 12-count for $7.99 each and get $5 back in Extra Bucks.  That’s like $10.98 for 2 or $5.49 each after Extra Bucks!  And, if you use Scott, you know that is a good deal.

The other item that I got was the Suave body wash  and it was $2.49, there was a $1 coupon in the CVS app that attached.  I do not think that everyone got this coupon though.  And, the price in itself was not that great, but I needed a $2 filler to get to $30 + to use a $6 off %30 coupon.  And, it fit in perfectly.

So, to sum it up.

  • 4 Oral B toothbrushes $11.96 (get back $6 eb)
  • 2 Scott Toilet Paper $15.98 (get back $5 eb)
  • 1 Suave Body Wash $2.49

Subtotal $30.43

  • used $6 off $30
  • used $5 off 3 Oral B/ Crest
  • used $1 off 1 Oral B
  • used $1 off Suave body wash

$17.43 (and, got $11 back in Extra Bucks)

I paid all in previously earned Extra Bucks and the $10 I got from signing up for CarePass.

As you can see, I lost 57¢ in Extra Bucks.  This is why Lisa says you shouldn’t send them to your card, but I am so unorganized that I end up misplacing them in my wallet or forgetting about them, so I prefer having them sent to my card.  At least for now until I get more comfortable with couponing at CVS.

With CVS, a spend threshold is BEFORE coupons.  Also, not everyone gets the same coupons so your deal may not be the same.  CVS coupons are stackable with manufacturer coupons, but you have to scan everything that you are buying to be sure that they qualify for each of the deals.  Some items seem like they “should” qualify, but they don’t.  If you find no coupons for an item but you think there is a coupon, scan again as sometimes there can be an error when scanning.

CVS store coupons also say MFR, but if the coupon can be printed then it is actually a CVS coupon.    Most coupons are personalized, except for the manufacturer coupons (these show pictures of the product when you look at them in your app or in your account online).

To earn Extra bucks, you must be at 98% of the qualified total.  If you need $10 in select purchases to earn Extra Bucks, then you will need a total of at least $9.80 to earn it.

For CVS coupons (not manufacturer) you need to be at 98% of the coupon to use it.  In other words, if you have a $4 off $10, your total must be 98% of the $10 or $9.80 to use that coupon.  This gets tricky if you try to combine two dollar off coupons on the same items.  If you have (2) $3 off 10 coupons on the same items, you will need $10 for the 1st coupon and $9.80 for the next coupon.  So your total will need to be $19.80 to use both coupons.

If you have a coupons that makes an item free, you should do that as a separate transaction as it could mess up other coupons that you are trying to use.
