FREE Downloads for Crafters!

If you aren’t already aware of the Free Design Resources on DesignBundles.net, you should check it out!  I recently purchased products to create sublimation mugs and have been looking for some creative files.  Thank you, Denice, for letting me know about their Freebie Fridays!

The free designs on DesignBundles.net are not all for sublimation.  They have other free files for use with cutting and vinyl.

You can check out the free ones here:

So far, all I have done is tried out a color swatch grid on one of the mugs I ordered (a broken one) to be sure my colors were accurate and they look pretty good.

I got my Cricut Mug Press from Walmart.  It seemed to be the best price:

I ordered my cups from Heat Press Nation – they offer $10 off your first order of $50 or more and I also got free shipping!

HeatPressNation.com

I ordered the most inexpensive box of 36 – I might order some of the ones with handle colors later after I play around a bit with the ones I already ordered.

My husband is already asking where his first mug is.  Geez, Gary, I have only had it for a day!  LOL  Seriously, he’s a great guy!

The other items I ordered for this is A Sub 120 g paper from Amazon:

A Sub Sublimation Paper

Cricut Heat Resistant Tape

And I picked up my Epson ET 2720 printer from Staples for $199 in store and used the Cosmos sublimation ink in it instead of the ink that comes with it.  That was last week, they might be back to regular price.  You can check Target, Best Buy, and Walmart too.

I ordered Cosmos sublimation ink – they also send you a color profile to download to your computer that will help your colors come out true.  Also, check out the videos on the Cosmo site as they explain every detail to change over an Epson printer for sublimation down to removing the tape that is on it when it’s new.

So, to sum it up, this is what you need to sublimate mugs:

  • Mug press
  • Sublimation paper
  • sublimation cups
  • sublimation ink
  • heat resistant tape
  • dedicated printer (with your sublimation ink)

Anyone else excited about the new Cricut mug press?

I think Joann.com still has 50% off on some of the Cricut mugs that can be shipped.

I need to rearrange things a little more in my office/craft room to get a little better ventilation before making another mug.  My workbench pretty much blocks my window.

Happy shopping!
